Amazon MGM Studios, formerly Amazon Studios, is an American film and television production and distribution studio owned by Amazon. It was launched in 2010. It took its current name in May 2023 following its merger with MGM Holdings, which Amazon had acquired the year prior.
Productions from this studio, as of September 2023, are primarily distributed through movie theaters under the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) label and Amazon’s own streaming media service, Amazon Prime Video.
The company joined as the seventh member of the Motion Picture Association (MPA) starting October 2024.
